The Town of Oakville, together with the Downtown Oakville BIA, Kerr Village BIA, Bronte Village BIA and Oakville Chamber of Commerce, received a $75,000 grant from Digital Main Street to expand the Digital Service Squad. The local squad has been able to assist over 400 businesses through one-on-one consultations and webinars since launching in 2019. This new funding will allow the town to continue the program, providing support for more small businesses to adopt online technologies and digitally transform their sales, marketing, and back-office operations.

Mayor Burton and town staff welcomed Wiseacre Studios to Oakville with the presentation of a welcome plaque through Oakville's Investment Recognition Program. In exchange, Mayor Burton was presented with an honorary Wiseacre Studios clapperboard from studio executives, John Weber and Frank Siracusa, and the Wiseacre production team Phil Primeau, Wiseacre Studios Building Manager; Sam Rosati, Associate Producer, Wiseacre Inc.; and Chris Agoston, Line Producer, Good Sam.

The Town of Oakville has launched a new online application for business licensing. The new process allows businesses requiring new licences, or looking to renew their licence, to fill out an application, submit documentation, and complete payment - all in one convenient online space.

For the third year in a row, Site Selection Magazine, an international business publication covering corporate real estate and economic development, listed the Town of Oakville in the top 20 of Canada's Best Locations to invest.
The Canada’s Best Locations list highlights the top 20 locations for new investment, presented in alphabetical order. Oakville is celebrated as a top choice for site selection based on significant investment and facility expansions at existing companies as well as new company arrivals.

The Town of Oakville received an Excellence in Economic Development award for its Downtown Mitigation Strategy from the Economic Developers Council of Ontario (EDCO) in the category of Planning & Strategic Development (Urban). The project was selected as a best in class example for its unique and innovative approach to construction mitigation.

In late March, Siemens Canada virtually inaugurated its first Canadian MindSphere Application Center (MAC) – expanding the Siemens global MAC footprint.
The facility, physically based at its headquarters in Oakville, Ontario, will serve as an environment for customers and partners across multiple vertical markets to collaborate on driving their digital transformation agenda and leveraging the true potential of data. This is the first center of its kind in North America to focus specifically on smart energy grids, intelligent buildings and industry digitalization solutions serving transmission system operators (TSOs), distribution system operators (DSOs), utilities, industry partners, smart building operators and other infrastructure entities.
