Mayor Burton and town staff welcomed Wiseacre Studios to Oakville with the presentation of a welcome plaque through Oakville's Investment Recognition Program. In exchange, Mayor Burton was presented with an honorary Wiseacre Studios clapperboard from studio executives, John Weber and Frank Siracusa, and the Wiseacre production team Phil Primeau, Wiseacre Studios Building Manager; Sam Rosati, Associate Producer, Wiseacre Inc.; and Chris Agoston, Line Producer, Good Sam.
Oakville is proud to welcome Wiseacre Studios, one of Canada's leading production companies, to the community. The new Oakville studio created a permanent home for an industry that has grown rapidly in Oakville since the onset of the pandemic. The project transforms nearly 79,000 sq.ft. of warehouse space into a film studio to accommodate changing productions. The studio employs between 150 and 250 skilled workers daily with staffing levels varying based on production schedules.
The new film studio is currently home to the CBS production of Good Sam, a medical drama starring Sophia Bush.
