On Monday, July 8, Town Council approved a new Economic Development Strategy for Oakville, setting a plan to further strengthen and diversify the local economy over the next five years.
Extensive research and consultation was undertaken to develop the strategy, with participation from Oakville residents, community partners, and the local business community. The new strategy speaks to the collective aspirations that emerged as priorities for a prosperous local economy.
Through this strategy, Oakville is committed to achieving its economic development vision to be the community where companies want to be. The strategy focuses on the attraction, retention and expansion of companies, and provides support to Oakville’s three business improvement areas.
This is an exciting time for Oakville. The Economic Development department will embrace the change necessary to prepare the town for the future needs of the business community and residents.
