The Town of Oakville is undertaking research for a new five-year Economic Development strategy with the goal to further strengthen and diversify the local economy. As the current plan reaches completion, the department is in need of a new strategy to guide work plans and priorities for the next five years.
The town is working with McSweeney & Associates, a leading Canadian economic development consulting firm to create a strategy that includes extensive research, analysis, and stakeholder engagement.

The views and opinions of Oakville businesses, community partners, and residents are essential to creating a strategy that will ensure continued and sustainable economic growth in the community.
Qualitative research was undertaken throughout the fall to bring to light opportunities, challenges, and priorities to be addressed in the new strategy:
A quantitative analysis of Oakville’s economic base was also conducted to create a situational analysis that includes an economic profile, and demographic, labour force, and competitive analyses.
The Town of Oakville Economic Development Strategy project has been made possible thanks to federal support from the Invest Canada - Community Initiatives fund.
