Oakville continues to be one of the best locations to invest in Canada. For the fourth year in a row, Site Selection Magazine, an international business publication covering corporate real estate and economic development, listed the Town of Oakville among the top 20 regions of Canada’s Best Locations to invest.

Oakville is celebrated as a top choice for site selection based on a healthy number of investments resulting in new company arrivals, facility expansions at existing companies, and new jobs created.

Between April 2021 and March 2022, Oakville welcomed Amazon, Hilti Canada, HealthPRO, Wiseacre Studios Inc., National Veterinary Associates, and Wolseley; Dana Canada Corp., and Spark Power each expanded their facilities; and Geotab grew their workforce. Together, these investments added 600 jobs, supporting the local economy and driving economic growth in the community.

In 2021, the town’s Economic Development department, in partnership with Building Services, implemented a pilot program to provide enhanced service to priority non-residential building permit applications. From April 2021 to March 2022, three new investment files were successfully supported through the pilot program, bringing new companies to Oakville and generating key sector job growth and new industrial development.
