The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of having an online presence

The Town of Oakville has parterned with Digital Main Street and Ritual ONE to assist main street businesses in growing their operations through technology with easy to use online tools, connections to trusted vendors and structured online learning.

Digital Main Street Program

The Ontario government, in partnership with the federal government, is helping small businesses reach more customers through the Digital Main Street platform. The new $57-million investment includes:

ShopHERE

ShopHERE provides independent small businesses and artists with a quick, easy and no-cost way to get selling online right away. Businesses can apply to the ShopHERE Program to have hands-on assistance with setting up and launching an online Shopify store.

Future Proof

Future Proof is a program that assists businesses with identifying new markets, pivoting their business model, and developing and implementing a deep digital transformation plan. Businesses can apply to the Transformation Teams Program to recieve specialized and in-depth business transformation services and support. 

Digital Transformation Grant

The Digital Transformation Grant includes training and guidance and provides the opportunity for main street businesses to apply for a grant of up to $2,500. Please note that this grant program is only available for Oakville BIA members.

Oakville's Digital Service Squad

The Digital Service Squad is a resource for small businesses to help build or enhance an online presence, promote products/services and sell online.This service is free for Oakville BIA members. For information, please contact econdev@oakville.ca.

Ritual ONE

Ritual ONE provides businesses, such as restaurants, grocers, retail shops, and coffee shops with an easy way to accept commission-free digital orders from their own website and social media accounts. Onsite contactless digital ordering is also available.

Businesses that sign up for Ritual ONE by October 31 will receive the service free and will not pay any monthly subscription fees, credit card fees or setup fees on Ritual ONE orders through 2020.
