Major building permit activity in Q3 of 2018 included Melrose Investments' new flex office development on Cornwall Road. This development consists of four, one-story premier flex office buildings ranging between 12,000 - 14,000 sq. ft. and will bring more than 53,000 sq. ft. of new flex office product to the Oakville east market.

Oakville’s Laker Energy Products has been awarded a $144 million contract with Bruce Power until 2030 for major component replacement. The contract is a significant investment in Oakville’s advanced manufacturing sector, and is part of Bruce Power’s Life-Extension Program, allowing the site to provide low-cost, carbon-free electricity to Ontario through 2064.
